Waterware: invoices that read themselves Waterware · bathroom, kitchen and plumbing supplier, New Zealand · waterware.co.nz
Result: About 20 hours a week of typing gone
The problem
Waterware was typing supplier invoices into its system by hand. Lots of invoices, lots of line items, and every typo ended up in the books.
What we built
Together with their IT partner IT360, we built a workflow that reads each invoice, pulls out the line items, checks them against the order and files the record. Invoices that don't match the order stop and wait for a person. Nothing gets filed until it has been read correctly.
What changed
About twenty hours a week of typing is gone, and fewer mistakes reach the ledger. The team only looks at the odd ones.
If you have the same problem
If someone at your company types numbers from PDFs into another system, we can usually automate most of it, and keep a person in charge of the weird cases.
